GET IN TOUCHIntroduction
You need a genuine, thorough and reliable administrator who is an asset to your organisation. I’m easy to work with, I know my stuff and I’m great at checking in with you and keeping you updated on the status of your work.
My name is Ruth Bruce and I’m a Virtual Assistant who specialises in delivering both ad hoc and ongoing administration to time-poor business owners.
I’m a data nerd with a background in project coordination and administration, with 30+ years’ experience in administration and running the back office of businesses, from being part of large businesses right down to one-man-bands. I’m well used to working on multiple projects with conflicting priorities and I’m skilled in using data and spreadsheets to create management reports.
Event Support
I’ve organised meetings and events at various venues. I’m experienced in planning and coordinating customer training schedules and ad hoc training courses, induction, workshops, team meetings, internal training programmes, events and exhibition coordination, change board meetings.
Spreadsheets & Data
I’ve 30+ years administration experience, accurately recording, maintaining, updating and reporting on information for the organisations I’ve worked with. I have used Excel and Word to design and compile reports, both from scratch and by simplifying data downloaded from in-house software, ensuring that the relevant information was easily accessible. I’ve designed and implemented reports within very tight deadlines, including reports for boards and for major clients.
Minute Taking
Scribing and taking notes and minutes during workshops, team meetings, change board meetings, training sessions.

Who is it for?
Many businesses are finding that virtual assistants are a vital way to get work done and expand their productive capacity without spending big-company money
Do I really need a VA?
Having a Virtual Assistant on your side makes financial sense. Offloading your mundane tasks frees you up to focus on the tasks that require your direct attention. By outsourcing the things you’re not good at, that you hate doing, or tasks you simply just don’t want to do, a Virtual Assistant can add more productive hours to your day!
How much is it?
My standard hourly rate is £35 per hour, 1 hour minimum charge. Time tracking software rounds my time up or down to the nearest 15 minutes.
FAQs
Wouldn’t an in-person employee work better?
Hiring a Virtual Assistant eliminates the need for renting an office space, internet subscription services, and other expenses involved in maintaining an employee workforce. You not only save money on salary, but a remote worker is going to cost less than an full-time employee when you factor in those costs.
I’m not sure what I would have my VA do
If you know you need help but aren’t sure of the best way to use me I have several techniques to help you work out what services you need.
I’m afraid my VA will be too disconnected from my day-to-day business
This is a genuine fear expressed by business owners. VA’s are professional problem solvers and are hired to add value to their client’s businesses. The more I know about what you are aiming to achieve, the better I can help you get there.
I don’t know how many hours the work will take
Timing will become clearer once you’ve identified which tasks you’re delegating. You’re already doing these tasks and you’ll have an idea of how much time you’re taking on them.
How will I monitor work?
I adapt to fit my clients because they all work differently. I always make sure that each task I’m given is clearly defined and find out if it has a deadline and a budget. I always keep my clients updated on progress and I will always let you know if a task is taking longer than expected.
Isn’t it cheaper to do it myself?
Think of how much your lack of focus and productivity is costing your business. What could you be doing with your time if you weren’t busy dealing with your admin? How could you really grow your business if you didn’t feel so overwhelmed?
